Weighted Vest Reviews (All Brands)

Research-based weighted vest reviews: compare TRX, Reebok, Henkelion, Nautilus and more by vest type, where each is sold and what testers say.

Which brand is considered the best for weight vests?

No outlet we checked names a single best brand; picks depend on how you use the vest. We don’t rank brands ourselves. Instead, we counted picks in five roundups, checked on October 8, 2026.

  • BarBend names the Rogue Plate Carrier Best Overall and the Titan Elite Series Best Adjustable.
  • Garage Gym Reviews (reviewed December 2025) names the GORUCK Ruck Plate Carrier 3.0 Best Overall.
  • OutdoorGearLab tested 15 vests hands-on (December 2025) and gave Editors’ Choice awards to the Rogue Plate Carrier and the TRX HexGrip.
  • NBC Select (June 2026) bases picks on expert guidance and retailer ratings; not all were tested.
  • Gear Patrol tested hands-on in 2023, an older list, and named GORUCK Best Overall.

GORUCK appears on all five lists. Hyperwear, OMORPHO and TRX appear on four; Rogue, Zelus and 5.11 Tactical on three; CAP Barbell and Kensui on two; Titan Fitness, MiR, Henkelion and RUNmax on one each.

The lists split by style: plate carriers for CrossFit and rucking, slim pocket vests for running and walking, fixed neoprene vests for budget walking. Consumer Reports also tested vests from Hyperwear, OMORPHO, Rogue, Zelus and CAP, but its winners are paywalled, so we could not verify them. For picks by use, see our best weighted vests guide.

OutdoorGearLab scores come from its hands-on test of 15 vests (December 2025).

Is the APEXUP weighted vest good?

In the only independent test we found, it finished last. OutdoorGearLab tested the APEXUP Weighted Vest hands-on at 32 lb and ranked it 15th of 15 with a score of 47/100 APEXUP sells it on its own store as an adjustable pocket vest with six iron-sand weights in 4–10, 12–18 or 20–32 lb settings. We could not verify Amazon availability, owner ratings or where the company is based.

Henkelion weighted vest

Henkelion is an Amazon-centric brand selling a fixed-weight neoprene vest with metal pellets sewn in, so neither the weight nor the fit adjusts. OutdoorGearLab tested it hands-on at 12 lb, gave it the Best Bang for Your Buck award and scored it 72/100 (7th of 15). The review calls it comfortable and easy to use. Its spec table lists 4, 12 and 16 lb, but its text mentions 6 to 30 lb.

Aduro Sport weighted vest

Independent opinions are mixed. OutdoorGearLab tested it hands-on at 30 lb and scored it 57/100 (13th of 15), calling it easy to pull on but “not up to par with the top-tier vests.” Garage Gym Reviews lists it among other vests it researched, not as a pick, and reports steel shot falling out along the seams. Fitness Volt ranks it first for walking and general fitness, but does not document hands-on testing. We found no brand site; Fitness Volt describes a fixed-weight neoprene vest, while an undated ynetnews blurb describes an adjustable 26–46 lb version.

Is a Nautilus weighted vest good?

We found no independent review of it in BarBend, Garage Gym Reviews, OutdoorGearLab, NBC Select or the free portion of Consumer Reports. Costco sells the Nautilus Weighted Vest 12 lb. with Adjustable Fit, with coated iron-sand weighting and adjustable straps; the weight itself appears fixed. On October 8, 2026, Costco.com showed zero member reviews, and the third-party tracker WarehouseRunner listed it across 610 warehouses. We could not verify a 20 lb version.

Reebok weighted vest

We found no independent expert review of a Reebok vest in the major roundups. Walmart sells the Reebok Delta Weighted Vest in 12, 20 and 40 lb options, rated 4.4/5 from 1,383 ratings on October 8, 2026, and calls the 20 lb version a best seller on its walking-vest page. Walmart titles it “Adjustable” but sells each weight separately, so we could not verify whether the load adjusts. Road Runner Sports carries the Reebok Strength Series vest with a fixed 20 lb load and neoprene cover. We could not verify the US licensee.

TRX weighted vest

The TRX HexGrip is a pocket-style vest with removable weight bricks, sold by TRX in 20 and 40 lb versions plus a 10 lb model, and rated 4.74/5 from 27 reviews on its site. OutdoorGearLab tested it hands-on at 20 lb and gave it Editors’ Choice for Best Pocket-Style with 91/100 (2nd of 15). It praised the adjustability but flagged price, shoulder-strap sizing and hot neoprene. NBC Select calls the HexGrip best for experts, BarBend picks the TRX Duraballistic as best for men, and Gear Patrol’s older 2023 list names the TRX XD Kevlar most comfortable.

Is Ethos a good weighted vest?

We found no independent expert review, only owner ratings. ETHOS is a brand sold at DICK’S Sporting Goods; we could not verify who owns it. The ETHOS Adjustable 20 lb. Plate Loaded Vest is a plate carrier with two 8.75 lb steel plates and adjustable shoulder and waist straps, rated 4.9 from 10 reviews; reviewers note that extra plates are not sold. We could not verify details of the 40 lb and 75 lb ETHOS vests seen in search results.

Is the Danskin weighted vest good?

We could not verify that a current Danskin weighted vest exists. The only record we found, on UPCitemdb, is a “Danskin Now Women’s Aerobic Walking Vest - 10 lbs” listed at Walmart and last updated in 2017. Walmart showed no Danskin vest on October 8, 2026. We found no expert review.

V-FORCE and BOX weight vests

Both lines come from Weightvest.com, which says it has made vests since 1983 and labels them made in the USA (domestic and global components) with a lifetime warranty. V-FORCE vests use removable 2.5 lb bars and are listed from 25 to 75 lb. Rogue resells the BOX Weighted Vest, adjustable in 2.5 lb steps up to 45 lb; Weightvest.com’s own 30 lb BOX was sold out on October 8, 2026. Garage Gym Reviews calls V-FORCE “one of the original made-in-the-USA adjustable weight vest designs” but lists it as researched, not a pick; Mountain Tactical Institute used a 25 lb V-Force in 2016–2017 and reported a free buckle replacement under warranty after seven years.

Is the RUNmax weighted vest a good buy?

Reviewers disagree. OutdoorGearLab tested the RUNMax Adjustable (20–120 lb range) hands-on at 60 lb, named it Best for High Weight Capacity and scored it 65/100 (10th of 15), noting it suits strength training more than cardio. Garage Gym Reviews lists the RUNFast/Max Adjustable as researched, citing cheap materials and poor sewing. Fitness Volt ranks the RUNmax Pro third without documented testing. RUNmax sells mainly via Amazon, per reseller listings; we could not verify the maker or owner ratings, and Garage Gym Reviews’ product page leaves the manufacturer blank.

GravGear weighted vest

We found no independent expert review of a GravGear vest. GravGear sells the Grav Weight Vest 37lb – Pro through US and other regional storefronts and showed a sitewide 4.8/5 from 1,409 reviews on October 8, 2026. At Living.Fit, the 37 lb vest holds 16 removable 1 kg (2.2 lb) blocks, has open sides for pull-ups and dips and uses CORDURA fabric. We could not verify the brand’s origin.

MVRK weighted vest

We found no major-outlet review, and the specs conflict. Living.Fit sells the MVRK Weighted Vest as an adjustable slim vest with removable cast-iron weights, rated 5 stars from a single review. The page lists 15–100 lb options, says “up to 40 lb” in its meta text and 35 lb in its FAQ, and names both CORDURA and 1000D nylon as the shell. We could not verify Amazon availability or ownership.

Does Nike sell a weighted vest?

No, as far as we could find. A search for “weight vest” on Nike.com on October 8, 2026 returned running, Therma-FIT, sweater and hydration vests such as the Trail Running Vest 5L, but nothing that holds weights. Results were partial, so a full catalog check wasn’t possible.

Fun and Function weighted vests

These are children’s sensory products, not fitness vests: Fun and Function is a US retailer of sensory products for children and those who support them. Its weighted vests and outerwear include The Original Weighted Compression Vest and a Honeycomb Weighted Vest, with small removable weights in inner pockets and sizes from 18 months to adult XX-Large. Why are there no Amazon star ratings on this page?

Amazon product pages refused automated access when we researched this page on October 8, 2026, so we could not verify Amazon star ratings or review counts. Owner ratings we mention come from pages we could open, such as Walmart, DICK'S Sporting Goods or a brand's own site.

Which vests scored highest in OutdoorGearLab's test?

OutdoorGearLab tested 15 vests hands-on (December 2025). The Rogue Plate Carrier and the TRX HexGrip shared the top score of 91/100 and both received Editors' Choice awards. Henkelion and Zelus got Best Buy awards.

Did Consumer Reports test weighted vests?

Yes. Consumer Reports (updated March 2026) tested the Hyperwear Hyper Vest Fit, OMORPHO G-Vest, All in Motion, Rogue Echo, CAP Short Adjustable and Zelus. Its winners are behind a paywall, so we could not verify which vests it recommends.
